“Learning more” is the most seductive form of procrastination. “Planning more” is the second most.

What have you been avoiding through over-planning or telling yourself that you’re not ready yet?

Are you not ready to start, or not ready to fail?

Have you ever heard someone saying that their life worked exactly like they planned? or that they got success easily?

“Life is what happens when you’re busy making other plans”

Here are some great personalities whose life had changed over the years, they never planned to be successful, rather they’re just ready to face the setbacks that life is offering them.

  1. From a gas-station attendant to one of India’s biggest business tycoons, Dhirubhai Ambani’s journey is a true rags-to-riches story.
  2. J.K. Rowling, the author of Harry Potter series was rejected by 12 publishers before finally getting her first book published.
  3. Colonel Sanders, the founder of Kentucky Fried Chicken was rejected by over 1,000 restaurants before finally finding success with his recipe at the age of 62.
  4. Steve Jobs, the co-founder of Apple was fired from his own company but returned years later to help make it the most valuable brand in the world.
  5. Vincent Van Gogh, the painter sold only one painting during his lifetime, but is now considered one of the greatest artists in history.
  6. Oprah Winfrey, the media mogul was fired from her first television job as a news anchor and was told she was “unfit for TV.”
  7. Walt Disney, the creator of Mickey Mouse and Disneyland was fired from a newspaper for lack of creativity and went bankrupt several times before finding success.
  8. Writer Harry Bernstein authored countless rejected books before getting his first hit at age 96.

And you think you’re the odd one out whose plans didn’t work as expected, You’re the only one who didn’t get that dream job, not settled at 25, haven’t decided what to do with their life?

Take inspiration from the exceptional individuals who defeated all the odds and proved that flawless plan is not essential for triumph. Although strategic planning is necessary, but if it’s not going like the way you want, doesn’t mean it’s the end of the world, you can still make a new plan or can work on that old one with more dedication.

What if you were meant for something more?

We all share the same journey but at different paces, some reach their goals early while others may struggle to make progress. However, this does not imply that those who are lagging behind are incapable of succeeding in the future.

We often become fixated on planning for the future, forgetting that these plans are only temporary and that the future is unpredictable. Therefore, we should focus on making our plans but also keep in mind that they are flexible and subject to change.

Ultimately, we can plan for the future, but we cannot predict it.

The best way to predict your future, is to look at your day today.

What would you lose by simply starting anyway?

If the answer is “not much” then guess what? Start anyway.

It’s always wise to have a backup plan in place, and if Plan A falls through, we can move on to Plan B, C, or even further down the line. We have the potential to develop countless plans and work through any obstacle that may arise. However, it’s crucial to not get so wrapped up in our backup plans that we forget what truly brings us happiness.

While it’s important to prepare for the worst-case scenario, we must also prioritize what brings us joy and fulfillment. Focusing solely on backup plans can distract us from our true passions and what motivates us to succeed.

“Planning is the key to success, but flexibility is the key to survival.”

Therefore, it’s essential to strike a balance between planning for contingencies and staying focused on our core values and aspirations, we can remind ourselves that our happiness should be at the forefront of our priorities, and we should never let it take a backseat to our backup plans.

“Planning is not just about predicting the future, but also preparing for the unknown.”
